Hebrews 13:5b

For those who don't know, Sunday night was a scary one for us. Mimi and Poppy were about to leave from their visit, when we heard a loud bang from Gracie's room. (She had gone in to sleep for the night, but was instead trying to figure out how to escape from the crib!) With all of the determination she could muster up, our little Grace lifted her whole body weight on her upper arms and fell head first on the floor- about a 4ft drop.

When we first saw her, she was holding her breath....her arm looked like it might have been twisted in some way and she was wailing in serious pain. She looked as if she couldn't move and when her arm was touched she screamed harder. We called 911 and when the ambulance came, they put a neck brace on her, put her head in some contraption, and strapped her legs and body down to a hard board- and then to the stretcher. It is a sight that we wouldn't wish on any parent. To see her reaching out for us to pick her up and see her screaming from pain and confusion is an image that we don't want to dwell on. It ripped our hearts out.

To make a long story short, by GOD's GRACE, our Lord protected Gracie through the fall. After Xrays and a CAT scan, she was free to go. She left the hospital with a red lump on her head and a few scrapes on her face. She is obviously sore and tired. Please continue to pray for her recovery.
She now has a big girl bed and she is still fearless as ever. This experience has given us a new understanding for God's provision and for the role we have as parents. We are grateful for everyone's prayers and for the Lord's protection on little Gracie in yet her 2nd visit to the ER in the short 2 years of her life.

Hebrews 13:5b says "I will NEVER leave thee, nor forsake thee." This is the precious promise that we clung to that night and the promise we will cling to forever.

Oh my goodness! The story had ME holding my breath throughout the whole thing until I found out everything was ok.
It's funny that they say kids keep you young, but it seems like Gracie is determined to shave years off your life! :)
I'm so happy she's ok. How wonderful to know the Lord had her in His arms, even when she couldn't be in yours.
